What Our Staff Say About Us

North Chadderton School

I have had the opportunity to develop both personally and professionally, and that has been in a big part due to the huge support and opportunities I have received in developing myself as a practitioner and a leader.  Working at the school makes you feel like a valued member of the team and its ethos around supporting and nurturing its students and staff makes it a highly attractive place to work.

Mrs Kaysor

Director of Standards and Expectations

The school is heavily invested in developing staff and nurturing talent, and I believe that I have always been able to access a wealth of experience, support and training to enable me to grow in each of my roles. Additionally, I have always felt an overwhelming sense of community at North Chadderton - staff feel proud to be part of Team North Chadderton and work collectively in supporting each other.

Mr Mannix

Head of Business

North Chadderton is a school with a commitment to providing its students with a great learning and cultural experience by investing in the expertise of their colleagues.  Staff are invested in through the excellent in-house Professional Growth programme which endeavours to ensure all staff are up-to-date with best practices in pedagogy.  In addition, staff are always facilitated to undertake any training that will support them in their role.  In my role as lead for novice teachers, I have been steadfastly supported to learn the ropes and develop the provision for early career teachers so that it is “above and beyond” what is required from the Statutory Guidance – according to Ofsted!

Mrs Silby-Lewis

Staff are very supportive of each other and there is always opportunity to develop and challenge your practice as a teacher through CPD initiatives.

Fir Bank Primary School

At Fir Bank, I’ve always felt incredibly supported to develop both personally and professionally and I have been provided with a wide range of opportunities to do so through experience and training. Fir Bank has always had a wonderful sense of community, where students and staff are all valued as individuals, and I feel proud to be a member of the team.

Miss Bird

Working at Fir Bank has been a journey I am pleased to have been part of. In recent years with Mrs McLaughlin and the Oak Trust's support, I have been given opportunities that have impacted on my professional and personal development for the better. Giving me the skills and motivation to continue to improve the mental health of children and families so they can become the best versions of themselves.

Mrs Woodall

As a member of staff at FirBank Primary School, I feel valued, trusted, respected, and heard. The supportive, warm family-orientated environment has greeted me every time I’ve walked through the door for over twenty years. This warmth makes coming to work an enjoyable experience every single day.

I take pride in the strong sense of community our school fosters. The investment provided by all staff enables our children to achieve, develop, and thrive—not just academically but also creatively and emotionally.
